WATER SYSTEM ISSUES UPDATE (MAY 16, 2018 – 10 a.m.)

Posted by

Due to the efforts and commitment of our staff team, water operations were restored yesterday evening.

After the system was restarted, water flows into the old reserve were unusually high and as a result we had to shut down that section of the line to avoid having to shut down the entire system again.  After investigating, it was discovered that the water losses were due to a terrible vandalism of the old pump house including destruction of shut off valves.  Repairs are underway and systems should be operational again today.

The police have been notified of this senseless act and it will be thoroughly investigated. This is not a system or design failure – it is people causing senseless damage, harm and expense that affects all of our residents.

We will keep you posted as the day develops.
