Please use the water sparingly – no laundry please!

Remember we are still under a precautionary boil water order.

Additional technical personnel are arriving on site tomorrow.

We will provide further updates as they arise in the coming hours.

Update on Water System Issues (May 15, 2018 – 1:00 p.m.)

This will provide our membership with an update on the status of the drinking water system which has not been operational since yesterday due to a system failure.

Staff have been working non-stop to identify the source of the problem and a solution and we are hopeful that the water will be restored today.

The problem appears to be based in the control systems in the treatment area of the plant. We are working closely with the system engineers, equipment providers and operators to find and implement solutions.

In the interim, under the direction of Health Canada we are under a temporary Boil Water Advisory (BWA) for drinking water. We will remain under the Boil Water Advisory for at least 24 hours after the Plant becomes fully operational.   This is a precaution only and standard procedure in these circumstances.

We understand and apologize for the major inconvenience this is causing to the community.  We share your frustration and can assure you that we are not only working to fix the immediate problem, but also to implement procedures that will avoid this unforeseen problem in the future.

We will keep you posted throughout the day as the situation develops.

In the meantime, please contact the Band Office or Health Centre if you have any special needs in relation to this situation.
