An important message to all Pic Mobert First Nation Band Members
In December, 2016, the Pic Mobert First Nation membership ratified the Anishinabek Education System
and gave the Chief and Council the mandate to implement self governance in education.
Over the past year or so, Council and staff have been working closely with the Union of Ontario Indians
and the Kinomaadswin Education Body to prepare for implementation of the Anishnabek Education
System, which takes effect on April 1, 2018.
An important and mandatory step in this process is the passing of an Education Law for the Pic Mobert
First Nation. Council representatives and staff have been working with the Union of Ontario Indians to
draft the law, and at the last Council meeting, the final draft law was read for the first time.

- Sault Ste. Marie: Saturday, March 10th , 3:00 pm – Days Inn
