Announcement: Hiring of Band Manager

Posted by

The Pic Mobert First Nation Council is pleased to announce the hiring of Crystal Pirie as Band General
Manager.

Crystal is a Pic Mobert First Nation Band Member who has extensive management experience with First
Nations, other Aboriginal organizations and the federal government; she is currently working as our Manager of
Health and Social Programs.

Crystal participated in a competitive process and was selected from a small group of highly qualified applicants,
both of which were Pic Mobert Band Members.

Crystal will officially commence her duties on Monday, November 6, 2017, and thereafter will assume overall
management and responsibility for all operational matters.

A competition for a new Manager of Health and Social Services has commenced. In the interim, former
Manager Carol Rowland has agreed to return as Acting Manager on a part-time basis, until such time as a new
manager is hired.

As reported earlier, Elaine Stewart will move to the position of Manager of Finance, effective on November 6,
2017, and thereafter her duties and authorities will be focused on financial management, policies and planning,
purchasing, information technology and records management and security.

Norman Jaehrling will continue in the role of CEO on a part-time basis, and will be focused on strategic and
governance matters.

The Council is very enthusiastic that our most senior operational position will now be held by a Band Member,
and believe that the related changes will improve the quality and timeliness of services to our membership.

Miigwetch,

Gimaa Kwe (Chief) Johanna Desmoulin
