(9 Week Summer Student Contract starting by July 3rd, 2017)

You are sincere in your passion to assist in the development of a skilled Aboriginal workforce, through the provision of individual and community based employment and training initiatives. You have demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service skills and excel at embracing diversity while establishing rapport with clients. Your preferred post-secondary education in Business is complemented with related experience. Ideally, you have office experience and proficient using computers Microsoft Office Products.

Under the direction of the Executive Director and in co-operation with the Officers, Employment  Counsellor and Administrative Assistant, each Advisor will assume responsibility for assisting in the enhancement of employment and training related services to meet the recruitment needs of First Nations Clients and Employers based in traditional Anishinabek values and principles for the Aboriginal people of the following participating First Nations: Animbiigoo Zaagi‘igan Anishinabek (Lake Nipigon Ojibway), Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinabek (Rocky Bay First Nation), Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinabek (Sandpoint First Nation), Kiashke Zaaging Anishinabek (Gull Bay First Nation), Michipicoten First Nation, Pays Plat First Nation, Pic Mobert First Nation, and Red Rock Indian Band. In addition, the student will be responsible for assisting and planning with the 20 year anniversary celebration of AETS.

Who is eligible for this Canada Summer Jobs Program?
Post-Secondary (college or university) or Secondary Student Applicants between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment, registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year, Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and legally entitled to work in Canada.

Valid Class G Driver’s Licence is an asset.

Salary: This position pays $13/hour for 35 hours/week
