Job Posting – Pic Mobert First Nation: Manager – Public Works & Housing
The Pic Mobert First Nation is an Ojibway Community of approximately 350 people that owns and operates a diverse portfolio of assets including some 100 homes, numerous public buildings and public roads and bridges, among others.
Reporting to the CEO, the Manager – Housing & Public Works will have overall responsibility for the development, operation and maintenance of community assets and infrastructure including a portfolio of housing, public buildings, roads, electrical systems, solid waste collection and disposal, and waste water treatment and disposal.
The Manager is generally accountable for ensuring that all community assets are planned, developed, operated and maintained in a manner such they are able to meet the needs of the community and its residents in a safe, consistent and reliable manner while maximizing the useable life of the respective assets. The Manager will also play a key role in developing a local workforce that supports long term self-sufficiency in building construction and maintenance.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of related experience, related education and training, ideally consisting related technical post-secondary education and/or a trade certification in the building trades, a valid Ontario driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
This is a full-time position and will demand a high level of commitment. We are seeking a highly motivated individual whose aspirations and accomplishments demonstrate a passion and unfettered commitment to achieving excellence in the field of public housing and infrastructure.
This is a senior-level management position with competitive compensation plus a vehicle allowance and opportunities to participate in the First Nation’s supplemental benefit and pension programs.
