Duties

The Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area (LSNMCA) is seeking outgoing and friendly students to join our Visitor Experience Team this summer for the position of Visitor Information Officer from May 2017 to September 1, 2017.

Locations: Nipigon, ON; Terrace Bay, ON

Working out of a designated Tourism Centre, you will engage the public to provide information about the LSNMCA and to promote the North Shore as a destination of choice for visitors. You will participate in community events and outreach throughout the summer.

Work environment

There’s a reason Lake Superior has been referred to as an inland ocean and you’ll discover that for yourself when you visit this immensely beautiful Great Lake. Called Gitchi Gummi or “The Big Lake” by the Anishinabek people and known for her furious storms, the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area will soon be recognized as one of the largest protected areas of fresh water in the world.
